Minor Sports Cross Training

Premier Sports Leagues offers different cross training programs for minor sport athletes. Our new sports are modified versions of the more popular sports and designed to be played in a small area (gym) which equates to small in tight play of the larger surface type sports (i.e. hockey, soccer)

MINOR HOCKEY/ SOCCER TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT CLINIC

Our Hockey Off Ice Cross Training Clinics and Minor Soccer Development Clinics are the best form of development training for minor hockey & minor soccer players.

We provide the gym, provide all the equipment, provide a Certified Facilitator and introduce your team to the basic rules of floorball or futsal, then engage the players into playing a series of mini games in a small playing area while working on sport fundamentals.

GOALS
  • provide players an opportunity to develop skills like puck/ ball control, passing, and shooting, using similar playing techniques as hockey or soccer
  • help players become better conditioned (aerobic) by using drills and/or mini games that require speed, agility and many transition movements during play
  • help players increase their decision making (“mind speed “) via high tempo games in a smaller gym area, and challenge them to view and choose play options much quicker
  • work with coaching staff to plan, demonstrate and execute ‘controlled’ play tactics and systems in a space that is less expensive or more available than the ice or field
  • create an environment where the players are having FUN and unaware that they are improving their sport skills
  • build overall ‘sport sense’ awareness from repeated clinics
